LBHOA Board Members Biographies

Robert Gordon
Co-Vice President
Bob and his wife Judy have lived on the Peninsula for 28 years. They have two adult children, both of which attended PV schools from K - 12, and two grandchildren. Bob works for Boeing in El Segundo and Judy is a retired school teacher. Bob joined the LBHOA Board 18 months ago. He believes that the beauty and tranquility of Lunada Bay can only be maintained through the concern of individuals, and that the LBHOA is an excellent means for all Lunada Bay neighbors to contribute.

Eric F, Glassy, MD
Co-Vice President
My wife Chris and I moved to the South Bay in 1976 after I graduated from UC San Francisco medical school. We have two children and three grandchildren. My medical specialty is pathology with subspecialty expertise in hematopathology. For many years I was the medical director of the laboratory at Little Company of Mary Hospital, Torrance and I am currently the medical director at Pathology Inc. My interests include computer programming and graphic design. I have designed and illustrated many medical books, including Breast Cancer--Real Questions, Real Answers, written by my friend David Chan, MD. I also create commercial software programs for pathologists to aid in diagnosing and reporting prostate cancer. My wife and I enjoy walking the median path and along the cliffs and tide pools; Lunada Bay is just a great place to call home. As an LBHOA board member, I am responsible for the design of the newsletter and the new website.

Sandy Leonard
Secretary
My husband, Don, and I have lived on the Peninsula since 1960 and moved to Lunada Bay at the end of 1970, after a short stay in Connecticut. We are still in the same house. When asked if I grew up here, I now feel safe in saying yes – I really did "grow up" here in P.V. I joined the LBHOA Board in June 2009.
We have two children and three grandchildren. Our son, Drew, and his wife, have two boys, ages 3 and 5-1/2, living on the East Coast. Daughter, Dona, and her husband have a daughter, 3, living in Northern Colorado. Both of our children went to Lunada Bay, Margate and PV High. I volunteered in PTA at all three schools, then Athletic Boosters and Drill Team Boosters at PV High; Drew graduated in 1983 and Dona in 1987. I was also active with Peninsula Enrichment Project early on and Community Helpline.
Facing a future "empty nest syndrome," I started a part-time, in-home business, Sandy's Secretarial Service, in 1975 and, as it grew to full-time, I moved to an office in Malaga Cove Plaza. My clients were primarily local business professionals who did not need full-time secretarial and administrative support. Twenty years later, I retired.
My next venture was taking classes at El Camino College and then CSU Dominguez Hills, receiving my B.A. degree in Cultural Anthropology in May, 2008. My primary interest is in Native American cultures and I'm currently looking for volunteer opportunities to work with them in the Long Beach/South Bay area.

Born and raised right here in Lunada Bay, Susan (Legg) Bohannon feels lucky to be living here again with her husband, Steve, and their four children. After graduating from Palos Verdes High School, Susan attended University of California, San Diego and then began a career in healthcare administration and finance for Kaiser Permanente. She went on to earn an MBA in finance and information systems from the University of Southern California, and periodically takes on part-time consulting projects for various healthcare organizations. She and Steve also enjoy volunteering in their childrens’ school and extracurricular activities.
